🚨 To land more interviews, stop doing these 3 things on your resume
Have you applied for 100+ job applications and interviews are still NOT coming in?
Perhaps a few interviews here and there, but by no means enough to provide a steady flow of interviews and offers. What to do… review the resume… for the 20th time?
The main reason why you are still not getting interviews even if you are applying a ton is: Your resume is unfocused and hard to read.
If you’re doing these 3 things when sending your resume, stop them right away:
❌ Sending resumes in .Doc format
❌ Adding your entire employment history on your resume
❌ Starting your resume with your education
In today’s job market, employers care only about one thing: How your current experience matches an open role.
Things that don’t matter on your resume is your education (unless you are a recent student), your time as a barista, server, bartender, etc., your past experience as a teacher or a pharmacist. These details can be used in answering interview questions, but don’t need to be highlighted on the resume. If you want to provide additional details, add a line on your resume to refer the recruiter to view your linkedin for more details.
Things that do matter on your resume, in order of importance:
✅ projects or experience relevant to the role
✅ highlights of your past work experience worded as transferable skills
✅ if you completed a certification or bootcamp relevant to the role
