Nervous 🥶 about reaching out to new people on Linkedin?
Once you start seeing results, you might even find it fun!
I get messages like this ALL the time from clients.
Typical results in the 12 Week Career Launch Program are consistent interviews starting around the 4 week mark. In this market, consistent interviews are more important than ever when each opening receives thousands of applicants.
You heard that right, thousands.
So that means, even the most talented person for the role may simply never get seen due to companies being overwhelmed with applications. And remember most roles have ONE person, the recruiter to sort through the applications - and they cannot physically handle looking at more than a few hundred applicants. So what happens?
Oftentimes, great applicants get overlooked, additional hiring tests are sent and responses are delayed by months.
How to get around all this craziness? Networking.
Humans hire humans 😉
When you send a message to someone at the company, you are increasing your visibility to the people who work there which means you increase your chances of a referral and getting your application seen.
When you message a recruiter or job poster who recently posted a job, you’re raising your hand that you’re really interested, increasing the chances of your app being seen.
When you express interest in your messages with anyone at the company, they can’t help but be helpful if they can - who wouldn’t want to get another cool person to work with them?
Be human, reach out to other humans, even if you don’t know them - just by saying hello with a short intro, you just might create a real connection 🎉
