Early career jobs are NOT posted online
How to uncover career opportunities and land your first job in tech
If you have 0-3 years of work experience in the tech space, you are probably confused and struggling ๐ in the job search. You're not alone. Thousands of early-career people are going through the same struggles.
Here's what's going on....
1. Early career jobs are usually NOT posted online
2. Companies are 'maybe' hiring IF they find a unicorn candidate
3. Most employers want candidates that can hit the ground running
This applies to most roles in tech, but especially to early career software engineer roles because they are the least common to be posted online, due to 1 reason: COST
In a podcast interview with David Roberts hosted by Erik Andersen, David breaks down the hiring costs involved in hiring 1 software engineer, which can be up to $12,000. That means jobs for less than 3 years of experience are not going to be posted due to the cost of hiring (paying recruiters mainly).
BUT if a company is not publicly hiring, it does not mean it's not open to hiring in general.
