If you’re newer to the tech industry, you may feel unsure of how to approach the job search. Finding a job in tech is a bit more nuanced than other industries. One factor in the process is actually getting someone to respond to your application.
These proven strategies will help you start relationships with people who can help get you noticed. So if you’re struggling to land interviews, this will inspire you to try something new in your job search. Let’s get started!
3 Proven Strategies to land interviews
1. Network with people from different roles in the company. 👋🏼
Think of this strategy as YOU interviewing the company. When you reach out to different people in the company, you will get a diverse set of responses about the company culture, which will help you learn if it’s a good fit for you!
Most importantly, ANYONE can offer a referral, so if you’re an engineer, don’t be afraid to message a designer, product manager or people in other roles - anyone from the company can help your application seen.

2. Post on Linkedin ✍️
Posting about your projects, skills or personal hobbies on Linkedin is crucial to expand the amount of people who can help you be seen. Even if you post once a week, you are reminding people that you are on the job search. The more people see your posts, the better chances they can help you.
3. Ignore the rejection emails, network anyways 😎
Many times job seekers get discouraged when they receive a ‘rejection email’. These emails are NOT indicative of your qualifications, so if you believe you are qualified, engage in reaching out to people from the company to learn more about the role. If the role is still open and you’re qualified…you can still get an interview!
